*pokes limp Muse*
my muse has been so...uninspired lately.

or something.

i'm not exactly sure what's going on--i have plenty of ideas, and certainly plenty to work on, but whenever i go to write, i end up just staring at my word document and can maybe get a few words out, but it feels forced and so not like me. sigh.

i think i just need to make myself do nothing but write for a couple hours one afternoon to get the muse going again.

what do you guys do when you just aren't feeling it, but have deadlines to reach?

i've already tried writing with a word count goal, which doesn't always work for me. :/

I am not inspired on a regular basis and I can be a lazy bum, so I can't give you any advice on this.
But I have taken to carrying around or having near just a piece of paper, a notebook, the last time I felt inspiration I ended up using my calendar and wrote almost 4 pages.

Just jotting around helps. Especially when you don't have a clear idea/plotline you can/have to follow.

So I way hear you on this one. Though, mine is mostly localized to Harry Potter fiction. I can't seem to put one foot in front of the other with that stuff. And I was doing really well with my ronbigbang fic and then - poof - nothing. I try. I really do.

Now, as for my Merlin writing - I just started my first one for kinkme_merlin and it's sorta taking over my life. LOL.

But anyway, when I hit a writing block, I will sit down and just start writing. I open a brand new document and write about absolutely nothing. And I do it until I can't write anymore. I literally don't even write sentences or paragraphs or anything. I just type. Whatever comes to mind, that's what I type. Usually, after 20 minutes or so, I've broken through. :)

My muse died in the middle of the night last night, so I totally know how you feel. I've tried everything all day to get it back, but my document has lowered in word count, so I'm just giving up for the next few hours. I hope you can find your inspiration soon!

I have a really big problem with this- my muse, especially when I'm tired, goes into hibernation mode. Making myself write can be a problem because I often just stare at the page or procrastinate. The absolute BEST way for me to get words on the page is to use this website:

Honestly, I thought it was a bunch of crap until I tried it, and now I've gotten so much done.

Other things I've tried with varying success: keeping a writing journal around me at all times (a little moleskine), drabbles in other fandoms/stories to get the juices flowing, just reading other people's work actually helps for me as well.

Hope that is helpful!
